Grace Donaghy, b. 1902, Melrose, Middlesex, MA
According to the 1930 census of Melrose, Middlesex. Co., William H. Donaghy (b. abt. 1867 or 1869) was a widower living at 14 Haverhill Place, the home of his daughter Grace (b.1902) and her husband, James S. Lockhart, with four children: Elizabeth, June, William and Robert. Grace Donaghy married in 1919 at age 17 years to James S. Lockhart aged 19 years.
The only William H. Donaghy that I can locate in the 1910 and 1920 census is William H. Donaghy who was living in Medford. In the 1920 census, he was living at 214 Salem Street, Medford with a wife named Charlotte E., and five children: Norman, Mildred, Helen, Marian, and Marjorie.
In the 1910 census, there are 3 men named William Donaghy in Melrose, but only one of then is recorded as William H. Donaghy. William H. Donaghy gave his age 42 and his wife’s name is recorded as Etta L., also aged 42 years. Six children are listed: Doris 14, Norman K. 13, Mildred 9, Helen 7, E. Maraim 5, Marjorie 3. The family was renting a house at 11 Vine Street.
I could not locate William H. Donaghy in the 1900 census.
Is Charlotte L. and Etta L. the same person?
Who is the William H. Donaghy that is the father of Grace? Grace Donaghy would have been the same age as Helen. Is there another William H. Donaghy? Was Grace Donaghy the daughter of another Donaghy?
