Bird/Byrd connection to Donahoe

Can anyone connect a Thomas Bird/Byrd to Mary C? Donahoe abt 1814-1880? I am trying to find Thomas ED/EDD/EDWARD Byrd b. abt 1875-6 either in MS/TN. It's highly possible that Thomas changed the I to a Y or that it was spelled wrong at some census. Thomas E. Byrd married Ella Nora Smith or Bridges abt 1890-95. They lived in Texas during a 1900 Robertson County Texas census, while living with Ella's grandparents, Robert and Nancy Smith. They had a son named Fred in 1895 and another in 1900 named TS. Thomas died abt 1901-03 during a hunting accident in Arkansas and was taken back to Texas for burial. I cannot find anything else about him.
Thanks to anyone that can help.
