Did this marriage actually take place in Chicago or was this just where the diocese was located? I have a Bridget Donahoe in my family tree but she moved to Wilmington, Illinois after her marrige. Her sibling lived in Joliet, Illinois with there families though. Joliet has a Sacred Heart parish in which many of my family members where married at. Joliet did not have a diocese of its own until the 1950's until that time all there records where sent to the Chicago diocese. I don't know if this has any connection to the person that you are looking for but i thought i would just post it in case.
