Interesting to me is that William Donahoo/ Donaho had been in Indiana per some census data on his daughter SURILDA shown below as SURILDER who was age 12 b. INDIANA per the 1850 Izard Co. AR census. I looked at the census data for name of WILLIAM DONAHOO which showed the following for that name in 1840 census data :

There is a WILLIAM DONAHOO in JASPER Co. INDIANA in 1840 but unclear is whether this would be for same person as our WILLIAM C. DUNEHEW / DONAHOO who most listed being born in 1816 TN. In 1840 an individual born in 1816 would be about age 24 years old, yet this one listed on 1840 Census of JASPER CO. INDIANA is either age 15-20 or age 40-50 depending on which male he might be in this census :

1840 JASPER CO. INDIANA CENSUS :

WILLIAM DONAHOO 2001001 000101
enumerations above show :
2 males under age 5
1 male 15-20
1 male 40-50

1 female 15-20
1 female 30-40

MARY HARRELL/ HOWELL said to be born abt. 1818 and she would have only been about age 22 in 1840. So this doesn't seem to be them if the enumerations above are correct and the census taker didn't write down the wrong ages for them all, or if they knew their proper age in 1840.

With spelling of WILLIAM DONAHOO the closest I got to finding them in their proper age category on the 1840 census are two found in IOWA TERRITORY in LINN.

1840 IOWA TERRITORY, Linn

Wm. DONAHOO 13002 20001
enumerations show :
1 male under 5
3 males 5-10
2 males 20-30

2 females under 5
1 female 20-30

While this fits ages for WILLIAM DONAHOO and wife MARY HARRELL/ HOWELL, it isn't quite the ages of their children per my own data in my files, for SURILDA would have been age 2 in 1840 and her older sister PERMELIA would have been age 6. I show no older brothers for them to be the ages of the 4 young males listed here. So this isn't quite a fit either --

Another one is :

1840 Iowa Territory in Linn

WILLIAM DONAHOO 12002 20001

Enumerations show on this one that :

1 male under age 5
2 males 5-10
2 males 20-30

2 females under 5
1 female 20-30

Again, this data might fit for William Donahoo and wife Mary Harrell but not for their children per my data in my files.

I have no data of William or HENRY DONAHOO/ DUNEHEW/ DONAHO when they were in INDIANA yet we see the following for them when they were in ARKANSAS.

per the 1850 Izard Co. AR Census 10/16 Image of Ancestry.com microfilm copy of census :

464 464 Henry Donahew age 70 m born TENNESSEE

DUNAHOO, INMAN 16 m farm laborer TENNESSEE

Inman Donahoo - Izard - Died Picahontas, AR 1862
" A Good Story" Where I was and What I saw during the Late War" by Elihu C. Bechkam, Sergeant Co., "K" , 21st ARK.

"Just her I will state that there were only two companies of McCarver's Regiment with us at that time, the other four companies having left for Bowling Green, KY, sometime before my enlistment. These companies were commanded by Captains Elkins, Wolf, Matheney, Airington, Shinpock, and Nunn. Several of the soldiers died while here, mostly from Measles, among whom were Davids Bone, Joel Battles, INMAN DONAHOO and Joe Miller. Sergeant Sam Taylor, while in a play with John Strother, accidntally broke his leg and was sent home. Capt. Elkins was sick and sent home at the same time and never came back to us. "

In looking closer at the census data on WILLIAM DONAHO/ DONAHOO / DUNEHEW etc. we find that the following is in my files for him :
