Several of the Wades came to Fremont County, IA. The following material was originally published in a now-defunct periodical entitled NEBRASKA AND MIDWEST GENEALOGICAL RECORD, by the Nebraska Genealogical Society 1922-1944. The entire series is now available for review at the Nebraska State Historical Society, or on the internet. From the 1850 Federal census of Fremont Co., IA:
CENSUS YR: 1850 STATE or TERRITORY: IA COUNTY: Fremont DIVISION: District #22 REEL NO: 432184 PAGE NO: 143a REFERENCE: Enumerated 29th Aug 1850 by T L Buckham, Asst. Marshall. columns may not line up for you:
===========================================================LN HN FN LAST NAME FIRST NAME AGE SEX RACE OCCUP. VAL. BIRTHPLACE MRD. SCH. R/W DDB
41 9 9 DONNAHOO Jackson 21 M Farmer IN X
42 9 9 DONNAHOO Jane 19 F 19 IN X(married within year)
This is "my" Andrew Jackson Donahoo and Jane Wade Donahoo.

In the same 1850 census, some Wades that we have so far not identified as ours, were included at
PAGE NO: 148a Enumerated 5th Sept 1850 by T L Buckham, Ass't Marshal
18 75 75 WADE Jefferson 46 M Farmer OH
19 75 75 WADE Maria 35 F
20 75 75 WADE Sanford 12 M
21 75 75 WADE William 8 M
22 75 75 WADE Aaron 7 M
23 75 75 WADE Mahalia 1 F
24 75 75 WADE Elizabeth 15 F

The following copied from the Freemont Co. History Page, website, appears to be about the above Wade family:
"The first Wade in Fremont Co. Jefferson Wade came to this county in 1844. In August of that year he located at Pleasant grove, four miles southeast of Sidney, having purchased the claim of Rufus Hitchcock, who was here as a trader previous to 1840. Garrison B. Red and Nathaniel Tombs also came in 1844, and a man by the name of Slusher located at the foot of the bluff; just south of Wilkinson's."

The Wades had a connection with the Donahoos one generation behind my Andrew Jackson Doanhoo, as listed below:
CENSUS YR: 1850 STATE or TERRITORY: IA COUNTY: Fremont DIVISION: District #22 REEL NO: 432184 PAGE NO: 152b
REFERENCE: Enumerated 10 Sept, 1850 T L Buckham, Ass't Marshal
1 145 145 MORRISON Mila Ann 21 F
2 145 145 MORRISON James 18 M
Farmer KY
4 145 145 MORRISON Mary 17 F
5 145 145 WADE Ruth Ann 17 F
6 145 145 WADE Barbara 11 F
7 145 145 WADE Crytal 9 M
8 146 146 DONAHOO William 38 M
Farmer VA
9 146 146 DONAHOO Temperance 38 F
10 146 146 DONAHOO Peter 14 M
11 146 146 DONAHOO Lovina Jane 8 F
12 146 146 DONAHOO Betsy 6 F IA
13 146 146 DONAHOO William 5 M MO
14 146 146 DONAHOO Sarah 3 F MO
15 146 146 DONAHOO Joseph 1 M IA

The above is one extended family, with two additions: E.B. Wade and Margaret Morrison were omitted from the above listing by the transcriber, although they appear in the handwritten census record. E.B. was added to the bottom of page 152b and Margaret was added on page 153a, with a widow named Lucas and her family. Margaret had no known connection with the family, and was not listed with that family on the handwritten census, so her inclusion in the Lucas home on the transcription appears to be a scrivner's error. Never would have found these without the handwritten census records. The following two should be added to the family above, as follows:

42 145 145 WADE E B 43 F

3 145 145 MORRISON Margaret 16 F

Now, for the "can't tell players without a program" crowd, I'll try to sort them all out:

*William Donahoo above is Andrew Jackson Donahoo's older brother, born in 1812; with him his wife Temperance and their children.
*The mother of the Morrison children and all except Ruth Ann of the Wade children, was Eleanor Crystal.
*The father of the Morrison children was John Morrison, her first husband.
*The father of all the Wade children was James G. Wade, her second husband.
*The name of the first wife of James G. Wade, mother of Ruth Ann and two other daughters (one of whom should be "my" Jane), is unknown to me.
*Absolom Donahoo, A.J.'s closest brother (being only 2 years older than A.J.) married the child called Mary Morrison above, on 4/20/1853 in Fremont Co., Iowa.

I'll look for more in my notes. Dee
