My name is Robert Donaldson, Rhinebeck, NY. I just checked the Donaldson message site at genealogy.com and saw your April message. My great grandfather was William Donaldson (Town of Kingston) and my grandfather was his son James who died in 1911. I have done extensive research on the family when they resided in Ulster County and that with my grandfather, James, in NYC after they moved from the area. My research includes information as to the family's work and positions they held when they lived in Ulster County.
I have been trying to locate, without success, my distant cousins, the children of William Donaldson who, prior to his death in 1969, lived at Fort Salonga, Suffolk County NY, to find out what had happened to James Donaldson's siblings.
I would love to hear from you and share information about the family.
