Hi, have been researching my family in County Louth for a few years now and have successfully found living second cousins which has been wonderful. My grandfather originated from Drogheda, Co Louth, but moved to England when he was a young man. One of the cousins I successfully managed to find has sent me copies of the various Donegan's she found in the Church Records. I have looked for you and found reference to a few Owen Donegan's which I shall list below, I shall type the names as they were spelt and you will see the different variations, because as we know unfortunately not many at that time could write. Also I found a Eugene Donegan with a wife the same as Owen Donegan. I was convinced this was the same man so looked up variations of Owen Donegan and yes you have guessed Eugene is one of them so this is one and the same man.

I do have more Donegan births from the register if you are interested. I am sure we must be related distantly and hope to eventually find this connection. If we are my grandfather had a sister who went to the USA not sure which part but think Cleveland and then her sons New York, she married a Rodgers, so if we do find we are related maybe you could go hunting these distant cousins of yours which in turn would help me as I just cannot get a breakthrough. Good hunting, let me know if you have any more info re your Owen's father's name. As you know they usually gave the first son the name of the father's father, and second son mother's father which does give connection. It is funny there are no owen's births but a lot of pages are missing which could be your Owen.
PS, I do think Donegan is a beautiful name but thereagain my grandfather was.
