Grandfather Donegan appeared to die around 1952. Apparently, the family was praying around the bed when, suddenly, he sat up and, bright as a button, asked what the commotion was about! He lived on until 1958, when I was four. So, I didn't know him very well. His wife was indeed Sarah Redmond, from Multyfarnham, and she had a blind brother (or cousin) who emigrated to Scotland and had a family there - a daughter named May, who married a man named Walker something-or-other. Ever heard of them?
