Hello Donna;
I would like to give you a little background on my search. We have a certain ancestor named Doctor Gettings Boone (Doctor being his 1st name, not a title. He was killed in the Civil War ca. 1863 at Spencer West Viginia. Married to Malissa J. Parsons, father of Joseph S. Boone and Lelia Cora Boone, the latter being my G.G. Grandmother. Our family records listed the father of D.G. Boone as Joseph. I was able to trace them back to Greene County PA; Joseph Boone is listed there in the 1850 Census with his sons Joseph S. and "Doctor Gittings Boone." His wife is Mary. Also living in his househould is an elderly woman, Elizebeth Donham. From this we deduce that Mary is the daughter of Elizabeth Donham. We also found the following web page to be of interest:
Our Boones trace back to George Boone III, Grandfather of Daniel Boone; but we descend from a different son than Daniel.

Our connection with Elizabeth Donham seems to conflict with other people's versions. There are some very detailed websites regarding the Donham Family. They go way, way back! Please let me know if you learn anything that may be of help to my family.
