HELP! Iíve been looking for 25 years with no success -

I am looking for parents of Isaac Donahoo (various previous spellings)
b. 1 May 1826 Berkely Co., VA (now WV)
m. 19 Nov 1848 Athens Co, Ohio - Eliza Jane McKee
1850 census in McArthurstown Dist, Vinton Co - Isaac a saddler
dau Mary L. Donahoo 4/12 months old
Martha Smith 11 living with them
26 Jun 1865 discharged Civil War Ohio Infantry Volunteers
1865-1871 lived in Appanoosa Co., IA
1871 to Jewell Co., KA - homesteaded near Mankato
Mentions and Uncle John McEwen proved up one of the 1st homesteads in Jewell Co
1880 census Isaac states his parent born in OH
31 Jan 1891 in Superior, Nuckolls Co., NE
       Children:
Mary L (may have died as child)
       Charles Warren b ca 1856
       Elmer David b 1857
Carrie (Terra Ada) b ca 1860 m. Lyman Van Ornam
       Flora (Harreet F) b ca 1862 m. F E Fearing
Isaac Q (Aquilla) died as a child

Elmer David (my ggfather) had new testament in which he placed a note dated 1948 saying "This book to James T. Donahoo. Back in 1770 he was a preacher lived near the mountains in Virginia."

I do not know the relationship of this James T. Donahoo. I do have info on a James T Donahoo with the Ohio Conference of the Methodist-Episcopal Church in Ohio and Indiana.

Oral history has Isaac as leaving home at 14 and changed spelling of name to Donahoo. Who knows????

Thanks for any information!
Jan Donahoo Gibbs
