I have very little information on the Donnells. I show James B. Donnell born 1817 and died 8/31/03. He married Catherine G. [no last name shown] who was born in 1821 and died 9/18/1903. I have no record where they were born or where they are buried. They had 2 sons, Harvey P. Donnell born 8/2/1840 & died 5/11/1921 and William born 12-16-1834 & died 3/18/1918. William is my husbands line. Wms daughter Mary Elizabeth born 3/17/1870 was born in Monmouth, IL. [She was my husbands grandmother and I can always find her in the pictures because she had what my husband called "the Donnell jaw"] William also had a daughter named Jessie Unity Donnell which makes me think their is a relationship as you show a Unity born in 1797. Aunt Jessie was born in 1865 & died in 1964. I remember her quite well. She and her sister Ella Marie Donnell never married. The other child of William and Elizabeth was Catherin Isabella Donnell born 12-23-1872 & died 2-7-1912. She was married but had no children. The 1850 Census shows a James Donnell 40, William Donnell 35, Hugh Donnell 30, Jacob Donnell 26 & Unity - 50. I don't know if this is my branch or not. On a typed page, my husbands cousin had written "The Donnells came from Westmoreland County, Pa. In 1853 the James Donnell family moved to Illinois. In 1864, after the war, Harvey and William came to Kansas. Harvey to Waverly and William to Topeka." William and Elizabeth are buried in Topeka, KS. I have not been able to find may Donnells in the census. My husbands paternal side also came from Pa. and the Euwer was originally Yourd. I live in Quincy, IL and I'm 71 years old. In the summer I play golf and travel and in the winter when I am confined to the house, I work on genealogy so any information you can provide would certainly be helpful as I am at a deadend with the Donnells.
