From the old History book the Ancient North Yarmouth and Yarmouth ME 1636 - 1936 by William H. ROWE he states that Thomas REDDING and wife ELEANOR lived at Lambert's Neck. He had been an inhabitant of Saco in 1653 and prior to that had lived with Mr. PURCHASE in Brunswick at Mare Pt. (I believe Mr. Purchase's first name was also Thomas).
It goes on to say that Eleanor got into trouble with the law for abusing her neighbor Ann LANE and was found guilty whereby Eleanor had to pay fines. It continues in saying that one of their daughters married Henry DONNELL who was an early resident of Jewell's Island where he had a large fishing company. It says that Henry Donnell owned the island at this time and married a daughter of Thomas and Eleanor REDDING whose farm was at Lambert's Pt. which was on the east side of the Cousins River.
Where the name GOOCH came from I don't know, unless Henry was married twice and this was his 1st wife's last name.
Hope this is helpful.
