Nathaniel Donnell who married Elizabeth Todd could Not be the one at Louisburg in 1745 because my Capt. Nathaniel Donnell was born in 1671. He would have been 74 in 1745. Even though longevity seems to endure in this family line, men lived to be quite old ages in some cases, I don't think my Nathaniel would have been able physically at 74 years of age to have been in any battles. So this eliminates him. Perhaps he fought during the French & Indian Wars however and this is how he gained the title of Capt. OR, like many of his day, anyone who owned a boat gave themselves the self title of "Capt.". Thanks again for any info on the Capt./Col. Nathaniel Donnell of Louisburg in 1745.
