Hi Dev,
My apologies for being so long in responding to your reply. While these folks do not ring a bell with me right away, that doesn't mean they aren't somehow linked to my own 5th grt. grandmother's Donald/Donnell family.
Also the fact that I have a ydna family in Nova Scotia whose genealogy includes STARRETT/Starratt's that originated from Nor. Ireland and also came to Maine and then went to Nova Scotia. They married into the PHINNEY family in Nova Scotia.
I think there is a twist of fate here somehow but have unable to prove it so far.I find it completely ironic that the Donnell's showed up in the same county that my Ydna Moody family did in NC and that my exact matching Ydna Moody family in Nova Scotia is also linked to some of these same families and that my own 5th grt. grandparents are James MOODY and Elizabeth DONALD (Donnell) who have links to other Scottish families and the Ydna continues to prove that.
AND, there was a Starrett (spelled all sorts of ways as you well know I'm sure), that was linked to the William MOODY family of Pittsburgh, PA in the early to mid 1800's and this William Moody and his brother Robert both came over from Co. L'derry, Ireland as well.
I just feel there HAS to be a link between these folks.
I will come back here to post info if I find out more for you on your 3rd grt. grandparents.
Thanks so much for sharing your info. Maybe one day we will find there is a connection.
