I found this intersting reading. Capt. Benjamin Donnell is also my 6th grt. grandfather. His son, Samuel is my great, great, great grandfather. He married Sarah Whittemore in 1850.

I think this makes us "distant" cousins.

Have you done much research on the family other than this?


There is a reference in my aunts research to the first ancestor to settle (as far as she can find) in York, ME. He is Henry Donnell. Supposedly he married a Frances (Redding or Reding of York). The reference states that her last name was Gooch, daughter of John. However, John Gooch did not have a daughter named Frances. Do you have any other reference to this person?
