Hello Nona:
Like you I prefer to communicate directly rather than communicate through GenForum because there are some I don’t care to share my data with.
My Donnlls start with three brothers, William Donnell Sr b 1708, Robert Donnell Sr. b 1710, Thomas Donnell Sr. 1712 all b in Ireland. The three of them came to PA about 1738.These thee brothers were joined by a nephew from Ireland who was another Robert Donnell II of Ireland. These four groups formed a community and this group resulted in a number of cousin marriages. This group migration lasted until the end of the Civil War. The group migration started in PA then NC>TN> MO>AR (end of CW)>TX. The only exception to the group migration was Robert Donnell II,s group broke away in TN and they went to AL
I have about 6,025 individuals in this total group. There are two Donnells that joined this total group, one in NC and the other in TN, but these Donnells did not intermarry with the other Donnells, but their descendants hung in there till they got to TX, but since I couldn’t establish a connection with them I lost interest.
My wife’s mother is a Donnell that descends from William Donnell SR above.
Tom
