Hi there cousin Leah,
You are most welcome! Always glad to be of help.
I have been searching my "Donald"/Donnell line for years and trying to sort out just how they truly came to Maine.
I have argued (well not really argued, but questioned a lot) that they do Not stem from the Henry DUNNELL line of York Co., ME who came from England.
In all records dating back a good ways, I have seen that our ancestors claim a Scottish background and that is why their last name was found spelled "DONALD" but always changed by the authors or records keepers to "Donnell" or "Dunnell". My postings are all over the place about that.
Anyway, if you ever find anything more solid about our DONALD's (Capt. Benjamin and wife Sarah Kingsbury DONALD/Donnell) do let me know.
My 5th grt. grandmother Elizabeth DONALD (as her name was spelled on her marriage record in Buxton, ME - Jan. 13, 1774 to my 5th grt. grandfather James MOODY), disappeared off the maps after she married. Then my 5th grt. grandfather apparently joined the Rev. War and came home after 3 years service and died sometime before Sept. 1785.
I have nothing more in regards to either of them...where she was during the 3 years of his service although I suspect living with relatives, nor do I know where they lived after he came home nor where they died or are buried or anything more at all until their children married.
That's it. If you should come across anything, Please let me know. I appreciate it, and good luck with your research.
