Hello, Your message caught my attention.I am tracing my Donovan line, and have picked up where the last person left off in the 1920's. In some of old notes it mentions that my
gg-gf John Donovan came to the US along with 4 brothers. He resided in or near Buffalo and worked on the widening of Erie Canal along with his brothers. Of course I have not been able to prove this thus far. This is where John was to meet his bride Hanarah "Haannah" Sweeney. My John and family arrived in Chicago around the 1860's.John's obit indicates that he was from County Cork.John was a farmer and later settled in McHenry County, IL, where he died in 1904. His obit does not mention any siblings or parents. The only clues that I might have as to his parents names or siblings may be in his childrens names. They are names pretty typical, but here they are: John Francis,
Michael Francis, Patrick Henry, Catherine, Margaret Mary, Hannah, Edith, Mary Ann and Frances Ellen (Fannie).Do you recognize any of these names? Do you have most of your Daniel's siblings names?
