Hello Michael:

My Doolans are also from Missouri. Right now I am trying to find the father of Richard H. Doolan, born Sept 10, 1859 (?); though I don't find him in the 1860 census. Right now it appears to me that at least two Doolan families were living either together or right next to each other in St. Louis at that time. Since the adults show Ireland as their place of birth it seems reasonable to think they are relatives (cousins). We'd probably be way out of line if their name was Smith; but Doolan? What are the odds? :-)
