Hi Anne & Donal,
Looks like I am another cousin! It really is amazing to meet family members in cyber space.
My Great Great Grand Father was Owen Doolan from Kilcormac Parish. His son James Doolan was my Grand Father.
James Doolan born in Kings County (Offally) in 1849,joined the Royal Irish Constabulary and was stationed in Meath. He married Annie Kate Dowling who was a teacher on 29/04/1885 in St. Lawrence O'Toole parish in North Dublin. They had seven children as follows:-

Daniel Joseph, born 11/10/1886, Athboy, Co. Meath, died 13/07/1918
Eugene, R, born 1890 - died 09/12/1953 - aged 65 years
Eva Mary, born 19/11/1890, Trim, died 29/10/1921 - aged 30
Anne Josephine, born 7/03/1892, Trim, died 6/6/1907 - aged 15
Julia Catherine, born 10/11/1894, Trim, died 13/02/1906, aged 11
James Anthony, born 19/01/1986, Dunboyne, died 12/07/1965, aged 65
Mona Christina, born 8/12/1899, Adare, died 23/09/1981, aged 81

James Doolan was a Sergeant in the RIC and was posted around the country. The RIC was disbanded and James and family moved to Dublin and lived at 18, St. Brigid's Road, Drumcondra, Dublin 9. He was listed as a house agent. They are listed as living there from the 1900's onwards. Most of the family are buried in Glasnevin Cemetry. I have a lot of the records if you interested.

My Grandfather was James Anthony Doolan, he married Kathleen Carroll on 18/10/1922 also at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, North Dublin. They had two daughers Evelyn Mary and Carmel Patrica. Evelyn Mary was my Mum who is sadly deceased now.

My Mum was quite the story teller and thankfully passed on the stories to me. Also I know where Daniel lived in Drumcondra if interested. Its probably to difficult to write all the information here.

I guess what is really amazing is that I have been trying to find for some years now the parish that Owen Doolan came from in Offally and only very recently commissioned a researcher to check the parish records for Killoughy. I stumbled by this information on the Family Search site only in the last few weeks.

I have lots of other information that may be of interest and would be only to delighted to discuss. I am not sure from this web site where you are located - I live in Co. Meath. Are you located in Ireland or outside?
With best regards,
