Here's a little more info on the Doolen Log Cabin. It is located in the Pioneer Log Cabin Village just outside of Kinmundy. The village has a dozen or so log cabins that have been collected and rebuilt log by log by the owner, Irma Ingram, and her son. Once a year they have a festival there in the fall (I think in September) with all kinds of crafts.

The Doolen cabin was originally located on a farm near Kinmundy. My father, Sherman Doolen, has told me that when he was a little boy his family used the log cabin as a smoke house. I think he told me it was built by Benjamin Doolen.

The Ingrams have done a real nice job of restoring the cabin and have furnished it with period furniture. There is a little more history about the log cabin written down on a sign outside the cabin if you ever get the chance to check it out. The whole village is very interesting. I highly recommend checking it out.
