Searching for my g-grandmother Mary DOOLITTLE who married William PENROD July 26, 1855 in White Co., Indiana. William PENROD enlisted in the Indiana 154th Infantry in Carroll Co., Indiana March 14, 1865 and died at Indianapolis, Marion Co., Indiana, May 8, 1865. Their children: Minnie Bell (died young), Samantha (died young), Albert Russell, Emma, and Frank H. PENROD, born September 14, 1865, Carroll Co., Indiana, (my grandfather).

On May 30, 1866, in Carroll Co., Indiana, Mary DOOLITTLE PENROD married Josiah C. KANE. Their children: Mattie, John, and Harvey KANE. At some point in time, this family migrated to Pike Co. and Monroe Co. Missouri.

In the 1850 White Co. Indiana Census there is one possible for Mary DOOLITTLE:

Dist. 130 LN 31, HN 678, FN 682:
DULITTLE, Lord 40 (1810) Farmer b. Vermont
DULITTLE, Mary 39 (1811) Ohio
DULITTLE, Hiram 18 M. (1832) Ind.
DULITTLE, Julian 16 F. (1838) Ind.
DULITTLE, Mary 12 F. (1838) Ind. **
DULITTLE, George 10 M. (1840) Ind.
DULITTLE, David 8 M. (1842) Ind.
DULITTLE, Hugh 1 M. (1849) Ind.
DUKES, Jacob 22 M. Ohio

Note: the family of Spencer DUKES (age 33) was living next door.

Also in 1850 White Co. Indiana Census:
DULITTLE, Hiram 34 M. York St.
DULITTLE, Neomy 32 York St.
DULITTLE, James 9 Ind.
DULITTLE, Elizabeth 1 Ind.

Could Lord DOOLITTLE and Hiram DOOLITTLE be brothers? Could they be sons of a Hiram DOOLITTLE? I have focused on the name Hiram as my Dad's cousin wrote in a letter dated 1948 that his g-grandfather was named Hiram and he also wrote that Hiram was the middle name of my grandfather, Frank H. PENROD.

Anyone researching these DOOLITTLES?
