From the Albion (MICHIGAN) Recorder, September 12, 2002, pg. 9: "Ruth DOOLITTLE Ackland, age 100, of Fairfax, VA, passed away Saturday September 7, 2002 at Blue Ridge Christian Home in Bealeton, VA. She was the beloved wife of the late Neil W. Ackland. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 13, 2002 at 11 a.m at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden St., Herndon, VA. Interment is private. Memorials may be made in her name to Blue Ridge Christian Home,7034 Catlett Rd., Bealeton, VA 22712."
A check with the 1917-18 Albion City Directory reveals that Ruth E. Doolittle was the daughter of Willard E. Doolittle. No mother is listed. Ruth graduated from Albion High School, Class of 1920.
