I'm getting confused here. Franc Doolittle (Polly Frances? she doesn't use this name herself in her autobiographical paragraph), in her autobiographical data says she went into business with an elder sister in Howell, MI, where she stayed for 13 years and then returned to NY to establish a business in 1883, in Wolcott, NY. In 1895 she (Franc)mentions her millinery company and 5 employees, but no sister. You have a record of a Brewster & Doolittle Co. in Wolcott. Franc also mentions being the youngest of three sisters. So. Is it possible that the sister she worked with in Howell, MI maried and stayed there? Do you have any reocrd of such a person? Fran(k) (sic) Dolittle (sic) dressmaker with parents b. CT and NY appears in the 1880 Howell, MI census as a dressmaker, not living with family. She is with a Gregory household and listed as "other". I believe this person to be Franc (all circumstantial, no proof, of course). Is it possible that the Wayne County Levinne Brewster was Franc Doolittle's aunt, rather than a sister?
