Looking for more info (of course ;-)
My great-grandfather was Michele D'Orazio, born in Castelmauro 8 May 1878. Michele died in Springfield, MA in April 1964. His parents were Pietro D'Orazio (b. Civatella Messer Raimondo, Chieta) and Maria Nicola Raimondi (b. Fara San Martino, Chieta)
Michele married Lucia Lafratta, born in Castelmauro in 1877. She died in Springfield in October 1955.
Their children: Philomena, Peter, Nicola, Antonio and Joseph were born in Castelmauro. Their one daughter, Anita, was born in the US after the family emigrated in 1926 or so.
Michele worked for the Penn-Central railroad and then Westinghouse in Springfield, MA.
His son Antonio Leonardo is my maternal grandfather, born 8 June 1911.
Papa Tony told me recently that he is a cousin to Gus D'Orazio, who was a boxer in and around Philadelphia, PA. Apparantly Gus' father was Tony's uncle.
Antonio married Margherita Mastroianni, born in Springfield, MA on 7 November 1915. Her father, Domenico, was from Castel di Sasso, her mother, Giovanini Riciardelli, was born in Aversa.
There children are: Jean, Anne, Patricia, Anthony and Michael.
Jean is my mom.
Be glad for any info, including repeats of what I have already. Confirmation is good.
