Greetings, Chris. My paternal grandfather (Nicola D'Orazio) and his siblings (Annastasia, Lucia, Esterina Mario, and Arthur) were also born in Cansano. Nicola, Arthur, and Esterina settled in Brooklyn, while Mario and Esterina went out to Gallup, New Mexico. Nicola's parents were Michele and Amalia (Ramini). Amalia's parents were Vincense and Maria. A lot of Cansanese moved to coal mines in Gallup, Trinidad Colorado back in the day. Cansano had only 400 people so there is a good chance that we are distant cousins. Do you know the names of any of Carlo's ancestors, cousins, or siblings? If you would like to discuss this more, feel free to reply to this post or e-mail me.
