Everyone seems to talk about this book. But I am here in Australia .. not America. Could you look in that book just to see if it mentions a Hendrick G Doremus who married Elizabeth Van Giesen. They had a daughter Elizabeth in 1813 in Preakness, New Jersey. She married Richard Clarke in 1831 and their children all born in Patterson, Passaic, New Jersey.
