I have a copy of Edith Eberhart's book, "The Doremus Family in America, 1687-1987." It is a revised and expanded edition of William Nelson's, "The Doremus Family History in America." She published it in 1990. Unfortunately it was limited to 300 copies. It is a beautiful book, well documented, and definitely worth a look if you can find a copy locally. I will be more than happy to do lookups for anyone who is interested. I live in Morris Co., NJ, so if someone needs some research done I can help in that area as well.

I am descended from Antje Doremus, b. 16 nov 1785, who married David Romeyn. Her parents were Abraham Doremus, bapt. 9 mar 1759, and Elizabeth Francisco. He owned lands along the present Mountain Lakes-Parsippany border in Morris Co. There is a little, overgrown family cemetery on what used to be his lands. The stones are pretty much all down or broken or missing. I suspect many of them are laying under the surface layers of dirt.

George
