My ancestor was George Dorey. I haven't been able to find out where in Dorset he came from. He died at a place called East St. Modeste in Labrador. Information from his gravestone says that he was born in Dorset around 1809. One of his sons was named Archelaus. This is an unusual name and it might have been repeated in the family. Have you ever encountered an Archelaus Dorey?
