Dorner, of Brandenburg, Prussia

Our Dorner Line exists over eight generations. But we don`t know our original regional background. Because the familyname is not very often in Northern Germany but in South Germany and Austria.
My Ancestor Johann Dorner married in 1772, and lived in Friedland, which is in Brandenburg, Prussia. He was catholic but since 1778 he became protestant. Afterwards the family moved to Berlin.
The Dorner and Dörners have nothing to do which each other.
Dörner/Doerner is quite often in Northwest Germany.
