If this is of any value, the Dorrough surnames Jacob and W. and Thomas show up in some records in Carroll county GA after the civil war. Thomas was said to have moved west shortly after the war. Thomas was in the same unit as my gg-grandfather. I believe that Thomas is the same as Jacob or W.
I write this in appreciation of Thomas who pulled my gg-grandfather off the battlefield after he was shot in the head in a skirmish in SC.
