Bennie and others,
The original name for Dorsett was D'Arce/D'Arcy.Many of variations of this name are known - Darby, Dorsey, Darcus, Dumas, Dorcas, Dorsett, etc.
My family goes back to Edward III, King of England. Is that for which you search?I don't have all the connection for all the names, but using the variations will get you back there.
My Rhoda Dorsey b 1826,once in the mid central states and I think Ark. was with her husband, Thomas Chandler Woolley/Willey/Wiley and family.
Rhoda(Roda?) Dorsey and Thomas Woolley were found on the Latter Day Saints info as married in Shelby (Co?), OHIO in 1844.These may be my gg-grandparents.
I know my g-grandfather George HErbert Woolley b 1854 married an Elizabeth Rebecca Neal/Neely/Neil/O'Neal b 1855.They are buried in Auglaize Co., OH.They are also listed in my partial family Bible.
Here is a site of which I find very helpful and are my family.I can't guarantee your family will be here, but perhaps you can trace them through another familiar surname.Keep an open mind and remember to use soundex name and variations.
