The 1790 SC census Laurens County

3 males 16 or over, - Joseph Sr, James, Thomas
6 females of all ages - names unknown

1800 SC census, Pendleton District, page 23

2 males 10 to 16 - John, Elijah
1 male 16 to 26 - Joseph Jr.
1 male ov 45 - Joseph Sr.
1 female 10 to 16
2 females 16 to 26
1 female ov 45

[same page]
Dossey, James [another census book list as Dosset]
1 male 26 to 45
1 female 16 to 26

I've had to collect the Dosset as well as the Dorsett information regarding this family for both surnames are used for this family as late as 1900, sometimes in the same documents.

Using the deed records, it is clear that Joseph Sr. had five sons:
James - Thomas - Joseph Jr. - John - and Elijah.
by using the deed records where Joseph deeded land to them.

Respectfully,
Linda
