You stated: "The Anne Arundel Dorseys are content with their eventual link to the Plantagenets via Anne Howard,...."
To what Anne HOWARD are you referring? The one that someone submitted to the Ancestral File and claimed is the wife of Edward DORSEY, and daughter of Matthew HOWARD, SR.? That information is pure garbage.
Matthew HOWARD, Sr. and wife Ann did have a daughter Ann HOWARD, but she married James GRENEFFE, not Edward DORSEY.Not only is there evidence to that marriage, but to the fact that Matthew HOWARD, Sr. and wife Ann's son Matthew HOWARD, Jr. married Sarah DORSEY, daughter of Edward DORSEY and wife Ann.
The ages not work out for Matthew HOWARD Sr.'s daughter Ann to have married Edward DORSEY because the children of Matthew HOWARD, Sr. and Edward DORSEY were about the same age. Also if Matthew HOWARD Sr.'s daughter Ann were the one that married Edward DORSEY,that would make her sister to Matthew HOWARD Jr. who married Sarah, daughter of Edward DORSEY and wife Ann. In simple terms, it would mean Matthew HOWARD Jr.'s wife Sarah DORSEY would have been his biological niece.Such a marriage wasn't allowed in that time period any more than today.
