Buddy:I have located the Rocky River where Francis Dorset had his gris mill. It is located a few miles north of Siler City, NC in Chatham Co. Siler City is just west of Chapel Hill, NC.He is buried in Loves Creek Baptist Cemetarey, Siler City, NC.I have also located through the NC Archives, a list of the Regulators and Francis Dorset or Dauset name on the roster. He and about 2000 others fought the British at the Battle of Alamance, 1771. The Regulators were later pardoned by King George III after the leader Capt. Benjamine Merrell, the leader of the Regulators was hung by Colonial Governor Tyron.
I have also located the location of the home of Phillip and William Dossett in Orange Co.Their home was located at the convergence of the Crooked Run Creek and Eno River. This is now a park in the center of Durham.I hope to go there soon.Jeff Dossett
