Dossett family secret (Durham, NC)???

For over 50 years now, my cousins and I have asked "who is our grandfather?". Nobody will talk. My name is James W.Dossett, son of Raymond Samuel "Monk" Dossett and Agnes Porter. They were both born in the early 1900's in central North Carolina. My father's mother was Annie Dossett who lived in Durham most if not all her life and had two sisters Flora (Cook) and Rena (Long). She had 6 kids that lived Odie Simpson, James Wesley "Bud",Raymond Samuel "Monk",Thomas Earl "Tony", Nettie Mae and Francis "Pie" Dossett. Surnames such as Mangum, Merriweather, Simpson were sometimes mentioned as relatives. It appears that my grandmother was never married and from looking at my uncles and aunts may have had "relations" with more than one man. There is also mention of the Eno village of the Tuscarora tribe having some connection and is believable if you can go by the physical characteristics of some of us.
Does anyone know who was my grand father???
