This is not my line. Information I have run across shows that Robert Dossett married Mary Smith in Campbell County, Tennessee on October 6, 1850, Marriage Records Vol. A, pg. 100. Their son, Alfred was born about 1855 (there was also a daughter named Martha). Alfred Dossett married Martha J. Smith in Campbell County, Tennessee on July 2, 1868, Vol. B (i do not have a page number). A.F. Dossett married M. Parilee Harris on February 14, 1883 in Union County, Tennessee. Perhaps the informant confused the name of Alfred's mother with Alfred's first wife. Are you descended from the first wife or the second?
