Many Huguenots did come to Nova Scotia - but only after the expulsion of the Acadians. They came mainly as a group of settlers we refer to as the Foreign Protestants which included German and Swiss. They were brought specifically by the British in a campaign to resettle the lands left vacant by the expelled Acadians. Calling the expelled Acadians Huguenots is like calling a American Revolutionary Hero a British Loyalist
