Recently, Marie Rundquist and the AMERINDIAN Ancestry Out of Acadia DNA PROJECT at Family Tree DNA reported information about an individual whose paternal line appears to tie back to Germain Doucet, born about 1595. This test returned yDNA haplotype C3 with specific markers seem to point to a Native American paternal line. This was unexpected. Information about this test can be found at: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/AcadianAmerIndian/default.aspx The paternal line that they post is as follows: 1 Germain Doucet + unknown 2 Germain Doucet + Marie Landry 3 Laurent Doucet + Jeanne Babin 4 Laurent Doucet + Marie Pellerin 5 Michel Doucet + Marguerite Martin 6 Joseph Doucet dit Hilaire + Anne Landry 7 Joseph Doucet + Celeste Bellard 8 Joseph Doucet + Carmelite Richard 9 Charles Doucet + Caroline LeBleu 10 Gregoire Doucet + Amelie Lejeune 11 Laurent Doucet + Lesimaine Lejeune 12 Leonce Doucet 13 Floyd Doucet 14 Keith Doucet The French/French-Canadian/Acadian/Metis/Cajun DNA project also reports this result at: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/French-Canadian%20Heritage%20DNA%20Project/default.aspx Interestingly, this second site also lists a another result for a Doucet, this one haplotype R1b1b2, which is not considered Native American. Unfortunately, no information beyond the surname is available about this second test. I was wondering if anyone could help me answer two questions: 1. Does anyone know of any other yDNA results that tie back to Germain Doucet? 2. Can anyone find any errors in the above posted line back to Germain Doucet. Thank you for your help in this matter.
