Janet:
There is no possibility of that because my dna test was a "y" dna test which only males can take. Y dna is passed from father to son to son, etc, so I got my C3 dna from Germain Doucet. The reason I believe he was adopted is because there is too much information about Germain Doucet Sieur de LaVerdure to believe he was anything but French.
Now from Germain on down to my line, there have been many women with Indian blood, but that would require a mitochondrial dna test, which is passed from mother to daughter. It is passed from mother to son, but the son cannot pass it down.
Which daugther of Germain Sr. are you descended from? The reason I ask, is that a lot of people believe Jeanne Lejeune was the daughter of Pierre Lejeune and the unknown Doucet girl. There are two females that I know of who are direct female descendants of Jeanne Lejeune who have tested positive for American Indian dna. The mother-daughter relationship to the best of my knowledge has never been positively proved, but it has never been definitively disproved either. I believe the unknown Doucet girl was Indian, since my ydna results are Indian and she was the sister of Germain. The other two children, Pierre, and Marguerite have descendants who have tested positive for European dna. We know that Germain Sr. had two wives. I believe one of them was a Mi'maq woman who had children from a previous marriage, so all of them adopted the Doucet name. This will require more research of course, but remember, dna does not lie.
