I've just started hunting seriously on this line, and it's a difficult one. I've been told the wife of the furthest back Jimerson was a Doughan (or Dougham or Douthat) and that the couple lived in South Carolina. I don't know their given names even. They did have three children: James Henry Jimerson, Mary Jimerson Fickle, and Elisha Alexander (called Alexander), and they were born about 1834, 1841 and 1843. I have information on them. But the parents --
Apparently they moved to Tennessee sometime in the latter 1830s -- the oldest, James Henry (my great-great-grandfather) was born in South Carolina (no idea where), while the two younger ones were born in Tennessee.
I gather also that the family must have been Irish.
Any clues or information?
