Thanks Sandra & Bill,
After two and a half years we did finally just before the new year find another male member from the Rev Francis Doughty line to do the ydna sample. If his numbers match up with the first tester then most likely we will have those ydna marker numbers established for all the males in that line. As you know this can be extremely important to Doughty folks now and in the future that do not have a clean paper trail of thier line. Our Doty-Doughty DNA Project has established that there are about ten different Doughty clans in the States and all spell it that way. Some are Scottish some or English some are Welsh/English perhaps some R1b Anglo Saxon, and some like me who spell it Doughty , pronounce it Doe tee and after we had our yDNA checked found we were in the Edward Doty/Dotten family Tree. All these surname projects really help out, so much thanks for those that will do the sample wheather they pay or have the project pay.
Best Regards, Joe Doughty
