Hello Bob,

I've just stumbled on your posting - ref William Doughty Margate,Kent.

My great great grandfather is said to be William Doughty from Margate Kent. A cousin has a Crimea War - British Navy medal inscribed William Doughty 1855.

I understand William Doughty operated three sailing barges from Margate - taking coal from Newcastle to London - he was eventaully lost at sea.

I lived most of my life in Chichester England - but now live in Florida.

Best regards,

Trev Doughty
