There were a lot of Doughtys in Fayette County (originally part of Tuscaloosa County) and I think most or all spelled it that way.
I don't recognize your names. I also read your post about Daniel Doughty. I believe he was the brother of one of my ancestors. My line is
Mordecai Fulton 1813-1871
George Andrew 1847-1920
Richard Earl 1879-1968
Roy Vester 1901-1992
There is a Doughty Book put out by (I think) Preston Doughty in about the 1960's. Some of my family have it, but I only copied the pages about my line. They probably have a copy at the Fayette Library.
I have three volumes of the books on Fayette County put out by the newspaper there, and there are quite a few pictures and mentions of my family.
I haven't seen the Doty-Doten book you mentioned.
My grandfather Richard Earl (married Sarah Victoria Williamson) moved with most of his children to Lowndes County Mississippi in the early 1920's.
There is a DNA project that verfies Joseph, Jeremiah, and then Joseph F., who was my Mordecai's brother.
If I come across anything, I will let you know. You can email me if you wish.
