Douse family of PEI, Canada

I am descended from William E. Douse, b. 1800, Devizes, Wiltshire, England, who came to Prince Edward Island, Canada, in 1824. I believe he was the son of William Douse and Dinah Erwood. He married Esther (or Hester?) Young of Wiltshire (I believe to be the daug. of Thomas and Elizabeth Young of Wiltshire.)

William and Esther had 12 children (Arabella, William, John, James, Eliza, Sarah, Henry, Esther, Mary, Julia, Frederick, and Jane.) William first served as a land agent for Lord Selkirk, then the family had a ship-building business, and William served several terms as a Member of Parliament for 3rd Queens, PEI.

Willam died in 1864 and is buried in Elm Avenue Cemetery (or People's Cemetery) Charlottetown, PEI. I am descended through his daughter Sarah Benjamina Douse, who married Frederick K. Strong, a Methodist minister, and eventually moved to Michigan.
