Dowdell Family Genealogy Forum
Am searching for ancestors of Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Dowdell. Born April 20 (1871?), died May 25, 1942. Buried: Memorial Park, Sect. 3, Dayton, OH. I believe he worked for the railroad in western Ohio. Know of one brother, Warren. He married Euella (Uella?) Day. Frank and Ella lived in the Cincinnati/Dayton area and in the surrounding area. Know of one sister for Euella, Lily (Day) Theadman.

Bertha Orth (husband Earl; died in Ohio, children Betty Beck (husband:Harry) (OH), Earl Jr.,(died 1999), Richard (deceased), and Eloise (husband:Ralph Lowell) (OH).
There may have also been another son of Benjamin and Euella named Albert who died around 1918 (?) circa.
Dad (Charles) left Ohio at the age of 18 and went to Montana to homestead. Dad would not talk about his family when I was growing up and have no other information on the family other than Benjamin was of Irish decent and Euella was Scottish.
Dad also told us that he thought the actor Robert Dowdell, (Lt. Comm. Chip Morton on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea; Stoney Burke)was a cousin. In comparing photos of Robert and Dad at an early age, there is a family resemblance.
