My own family from great-great grandfather have so many variations of the spelling-personally have traced Dowdalls/ells/ell/all,from Scotland,Drogheda/Dundalk-Ireland, Yorkshire England to the Island of Malta to origins in Norman French invaders of England and Ireland in the 11th century-interested to hear of your research!
