Y-DNA Dreger (Drager) project
Hello everyone,
I am the group administrator for the recently approved "Dreger Project" (a derivation of Drager) through www.familytreedna.com. For anyone unfamiliar with the larger project goals, Family Tree DNA offers Y-DNA genotyping and comparisons for genetic genealogical studies. Male individuals can have their DNA test results included in surname projects for comparison and determination of surname lineages. I have applied to have the Dreger Project accepted by the Family Tree DNA program and have recently received approval. What this means is that we can begin tracing our Dreger origins, comparing where we fit in with the grand scheme of human evolution, determining branch points for different Dreger lineages, and even following Dreger migration around the world! For you as an individual, this may assist you in confirming your suspected genealogical relationships derived through the production of family trees, or may help suggest new directions to go in when searching for common ancestors. It may also suggest your family's place in the Dreger ancestry. Participation will allow us to characterize the greater Dreger family and all of the associated derivatives. For more information on the Family Tree DNA project, follow this link ... http://www.familytreedna.com/http://www.familytreedna.com/
For information specifically on the Dreger Project, follow this link ... http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Dreger/default.aspxhttp://www.familytreedna.com/public/Dreger/default.aspx
Testing does involve a one-time payment to cover genotyping, but if you sign up through the Dreger Project link (above) you can receive a discounted price.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions!
