Hi Dan, The son I have for Alpheus is William Angel b. 10/20/1846 and died 1/16/1891 and he was married to Ida Howe so the one I found is not this one. This William H draggoo was listed in Family Tree Maker Disk, Mortality Index 1850-1880.He was two years old and died of croup.Possibly he was with parents on trip back to Indiana when he died and was in that index, but the family didn't live in Indiana at the time.I believe he may be a gt. grandson to Frederick and Martha.I am believing that a child could be born and died between census years and missed being listed on the census.I don't know where FTM got the information and that might be a help if we knew that. Also, it would help to know what year the death occurred, but the only reference to time of death was MAY but year not given. Before posting the orginial message, I had looked at my total database and didn't have a William H.anywhere in Frederick's family lines, but I know he probably belongs there, and I did know that some of the family did go to Iowa. The way they seem to miograte and travel back and forth, it would be easy for a child to perish on those long wagon-train and steam train travels.
