Liz, my great-gandfather was one of George W. & Elizabeth Drain's sons - the James H.(Hiram) which Shirley mentioned in her message as one of their children. He married Nancy Ann Masters and they had 4 boys and 2 girls. The boys were George, John (my grandfather), Denver & Ernest. The girls were Mary and Bertha. My father was 1 of 7 children of John Masters Drain and Minnie (Russell) Drain. They had 4 girls and 3 boys.

Something that might be of interest: My grandfather's brother, Denver L. Drain, had 2 boys & 2 girls. One of the boys was named Vincent E. Drain (thus, he was my dad's first cousin). After he finished college @ North Texas University in Denton, TX, he joined the FBI and was an agent for 35 years, retiring in 1977. At the time of JFK's death, he was the Special Agent who was the liaison between the FBI, Secret Service and Dallas Police Dept. If you want to read something fairly interesting about the JFK asassination, google Vincent Drain - FBI and scroll down to the 3rd choise - Vincent Drain, Special Agent. Vince passed away in 2006 at the age of 86-1/2. He married late in life and had no children.

Hope I haven't been boring but maybe this will give you another link in the Drain family genealogy. I amalways interested in making a connection with others involved in the Drain history.

I believe that Shirley's grandfather or great grandfather was the brother to my great grandfather, James Hiram.

Well, must close.
